Architectural Technologist

Conrad Consulting have partnered with a multi-disciplinary design practice in the South West that are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of projects spanning residential, education, commercial, and public sectors.

In this role, you’ll work closely with architects, surveyors, and other design professionals to deliver detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction packages. You’ll be an integral part of the project team, helping to translate design conception into buildable solutions and ensuring work meets current building regulations and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include preparing documentation for planning applications and Building Regulations approval, as well as carrying out regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve any technical issues that may arise. Collaboration will be key, as you’ll be coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure a seamless delivery process from RIBA Stage 4 onwards.

You’ll need to be confident using Revit and ideally have some experience with Vectorworks. Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, detailing, and construction methods is essential. You’ll also be involved in producing schedules of work and NBS specifications and should be able to communicate technical information clearly, even to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Architectural Technology (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
  • Proficiency in Revit (Vectorworks experience desirable)
  • Portfolio covering a variety of projects including Residential and Commercial
  • Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
  • Experience working across RIBA Stages 4–7
  • MCIAT membership (or working towards) desirable
  • Valid UK driving licence

Salary will be dependent on experience likely in the region of £38,000 - £45,000 and the role offers the chance to grow within a supportive, collaborative team where innovation and sustainability are encouraged. Hybrid working is supported, although a regular presence in the office and on-site is expected.

If you’re a detail-oriented Architectural Technologist looking for a fresh opportunity within a practice that values quality and collaboration, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch with your CV or reach out to Jimmy Penrose for a confidential chat.
