Architectural Technologist

Architectural Technologist required to join a well-established SME architectural practice based in Halifax, specialising in the residential sector. Our clients work spans large-scale developments for national PLC house builders through to bespoke, high-end individual homes. They pride themselves on technical excellence, design quality, and long-standing client relationships.

As part of their future growth strategy, they are now seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their established and friendly team. This role has a clear long-term succession opportunity, with the potential to be part of a management buyout (MBO) for the right candidate.

The Architectural Technologist Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious technologist with circa 5 years’ plus of professional experience to play a key role in delivering high-quality residential projects and shaping the future of the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the technical design and delivery of residential schemes from concept to completion.
  • Producing and coordinating detailed technical drawings and Revit models.
  • Preparing and submitting planning and building regulation applications.
  • Managing client, consultant, and contractor relationships with professionalism and clarity.
  • Providing mentorship to junior members of the team.
  • Contributing to practice development, operational efficiency, and business strategy.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware technologist who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an architectural practice (residential sector experience preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit (essential).
  • Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes, and construction detailing.
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently, with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with leadership potential.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with both volume house builders and bespoke residential clients.
  • Ambition to progress towards senior leadership, with interest in long-term succession opportunities.
