An independent real estate and property construction consultancy based in Leeds are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated team. 

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting senior members of the team in delivering accurate and efficient cost advice and management throughout various projects. You will play a vital role in supporting both pre-construction and post-construction stages, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and meeting client expectations.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and project teams to provide professional and cost-effective advice, contributing to the successful completion of projects.
  • Support in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, cost estimates, and cost plans.
  • Assist in conducting feasibility studies and site visits to gather crucial data for accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective cost control and value engineering throughout projects.
  • Undertake accurate measurements, quantities, and valuations of work completed, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices, actively participating in continuing professional development opportunities.

Requirements of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

  • A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in calculating quantities and costs.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, AutoCAD).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Efficient problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to think creatively and propose effective solutions.
