We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Engineer with significant rail/ bridge experience to join busy engineering consultancy based in central Glasgow.
As an Associate Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing projects, ensuring their successful execution within established timelines and in alignment with client requirements. You will also be expected to attract and retain new clients to ensure the long-term success of the company.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Principal Engineer to fast forward their career with a clear pathway to Director quickly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
- Lead and manage a variety of rail projects from conception to completion.
- Ensure effective allocation and utilisation of resources for project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
Client Relationship Management
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and expectations.
- Foster strong client relationships by providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
Business Development
- Actively participate in business development initiatives to attract new projects and clients.
- Attend networking events, conferences, and industry fairs to promote the company’s capabilities and expand its market presence.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth within the rail sector.
Team Management
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in rail engineering projects, with a strong technical background.
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships. Business development experience, including a successful track record in winning new projects.
- Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
Benefits
- £60,000 - £70,000 per annum.
