Associate Director

A specialist Architecture and property company dedicated to creating accessible, inclusive, and functional living spaces requires an outstanding Associate Director to join their friendly team at their headquarters based near Wakefield, WF4

With a focus on disabled adaptations and residential architecture, our client strives to improve the quality of life for individuals by providing tailored solutions that meet their specific needs. Delivering high-quality design and deliverable solutions, a talented and experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist currently operating at Associate Director level is required.

The Role

As Associate Director, you will:

  • Lead and oversee architectural projects with a focus on disabled adaptations and residential design.
  • Provide strategic leadership and work closely with the Directors to drive business growth.
  • Manage project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and building regulations (including Part M).
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Act as a key client liaison, ensuring strong relationships and excellent customer experience.
  • Oversee contract administration (including JCT contracts) and project delivery on site.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of inclusive, functional, and design-led solutions.

About You

Required is a proven leader with a passion for accessible design and the technical knowledge to deliver complex projects. You will ideally have:

  • ARB registration (or MCIAT equivalent) with significant experience in architectural practice.
  • A strong portfolio of residential and disabled adaptation projects.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with solid technical drawing and specification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, planning processes, and accessibility standards.
  • Extensive experience with JCT contracts and construction team coordination.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Currently operating at Associate or Associate Director level.
