BIM Manager

Exciting new vacancy for an experienced BIM Manager to join a busy team in Manchester.

This rewarding opportunity offers the opportunity for a BIM Manager to join a leading design & engineering firm based in Manchester. There will be the opportunity to work within a multitude of sectors and project types throughout the UK and potentially internationally.

The practice have been established for over 60 years, in which time they have built up an enviable client portfolio, and a stellar reputation for delivering high quality projects in various sectors. Joining one of the UK's leading multi-disciplinary consultancies as a BIM Manager, you will be working on multi-million pound projects within the Industrial, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical and Commercial sectors.

As BIM Manager, you will play a crucial part in delivering BIM related projects within the Manchester office, liaising with the design and engineering teams and external consultants alike.

Key objectives of the BIM Manager will include the following:

  • Implement the project specific standards set by the BIM Project Manager and set up the BIM Execution plans.
  • Carry out model validation checks, coordination reviews and liaise with model managers for resolutions.
  • Ensure that data exchange protocols are adhered to by the project team and liaise with the design team manager on compliance issues.

Core responsibilities of the BIM Manager will include:

  • Manage and supervise team members in a multi-disciplinary environment to achieve holistic building solutions to the customer brief.
  • Liaise with other members of the team to determine and define the customer brief in respect of BIM.
  • Implement Autodesk software, CAD/BIM standards and procedures.
  • Manage performance of the department from a technical perspective.
  • Manage and supervise the training and development of both the BIM/CAD team and advise on training to improve the BIM design offering.
  • Provide support to Technicians and Graduates in their professional development.
  • Interact on project standards coordination with customers.
  • Present in-house and customer CAD courses and seminars.
  • Be part of the national BIM strategy working group for wider company development and benefit.


Skills and Qualifications required of the BIM Manager:

  • Educated to HNC level or equivalent in relevant qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience as a BIM Coordinator/Manager.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • High proficiency in the use of AutoCAD & Revit.
