Are you an experienced Building Surveyor looking for a new and exciting opportunity? Look no further! A medium-sized construction consultancy in the heart of Sheffield is currently seeking a motivated and professional individual to join their team.

As a Building Surveyor, you will play a fundamental role in ensuring the smooth delivery of construction projects. Your tasks will include conducting surveys, carrying out inspections, preparing reports, and providing expert advice to clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and retail.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site inspections and surveys, assessing building conditions, and identifying potential issues or risks.
  • Preparing detailed reports, including defects analysis, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on matters related to building regulations, compliance, and project management.
  • Assisting in the coordination and monitoring of construction projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documentation and procurement processes.
  • Conducting post-occupancy evaluations to assess the performance and quality of completed projects.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within a construction consultancy or similar environment.
  • MRICS qualified or working towards chartership.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and legislation, including health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to deliver accurate and detailed reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to different project locations as required.
