Position: Construction Estimator
We have partnered with a leading refurbishment and fit out contractor with a reputation for excellence and high-quality projects. Their portfolio spans a diverse range of sectors including commercial, retail, residential, and hospitality. They are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Estimator to join them.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in project planning and tender submission process, providing accurate and detailed cost estimates that ensure the success of our refurbishment and fit out projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for refurbishment and fit out projects.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Review and evaluate cost estimates.
- Communicate with subcontractors to ensure pricing accuracy.
- Maintain a database of historical data to utilise in future estimates.
- Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.
- Conduct risk analysis assessments for potential projects.
- Collaborate closely with the project management team to ensure estimates are accurate and comprehensive.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or 3-5 years of practical experience
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
