A growing multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a well-rounded Estimator to support a major UK infrastructure programme from its London office. This is a key role for someone who wants to be involved across all phases of the project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility and cost planning through to procurement, post-contract management, and final account close-out.

You’ll join a collaborative team working on a nationally significant programme, offering the opportunity to shape commercial strategy and influence key decisions from start to finish. Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed cost estimates and BoQs from early design through to IFC (Issued for Construction)
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions are developed and implemented
  • Provide end-to-end procurement support, including market analysis, RFPs, bid evaluation, and negotiation with contractors and suppliers
  • Deliver full post-contract cost management services, including:
     – Cost reporting and cash flow forecasting
     – Management of change and risk allowances
     – Processing payment applications
     – Contingency usage reviews and final accounts
  • Attend client and design team meetings, presenting cost insights and commercial advice to support informed decision-making
  • Lead and contribute to value engineering, lifecycle costing, and benchmarking exercises
  • Support the development of procurement and delivery strategies
  • Ensure consistency and quality of cost information throughout all project phases

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a construction-related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating or cost consultancy roles, ideally on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
  • Strong working knowledge of cost planning, procurement, and post-contract administration
  • Proficient in CostX and MS Office (particularly Excel)
  • Comfortable working across multiple workstreams and engaging with a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a detail-focused and proactive approach
