Geo-Environmental Engineer

Exeter

£28,000 - £32,000

 

My client is looking to bring in a Geo-Environmental Engineer into their Exeter office. They offer consultancy and design services to a diverse clientele, including engineers, house-builders, oil companies, and local authorities. Job Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in various geo-environmental projects for external clients and collaborating with other teams within RSK.
  • Assisting in ground investigations and desk studies.
  • Conducting soil logging according to current UK standards, including coordinating laboratory schedules.
  • Hands-on experience with soil sampling and water monitoring/sampling.
  • Crafting factual and interpretative reports, with knowledge of geotechnical reporting requirements being advantageous.
  • Familiarity with contaminated land legislation and reporting standards.
  • Preparation of factual site investigation data.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possession of a BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • An MSc is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Working towards membership of a relevant professional body, with a long-term goal of achieving chartership with a relevant institution.
  • Experience in site inspections and reporting, preferably in residential developments.
  • Capability to complete factual and interpretative assessments at a basic level.
  • Ability to manage projects, collaborate within a multidisciplinary consultancy, and demonstrate a track record of effective time and resource management.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Annual salary range of £28,000 - £32,000.
