Geoenvironmental Engineer

£35,000 - £45,000

 

My client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their growing team in Leeds. The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years of expertise in geo-environmental site investigation and assessment, remediation and validation, contract management and planning, and regulatory interaction. The selected candidate will provide geo-environmental assistance to internal project teams and external clients, while also managing the geo-environmental team's workload in the south.

 

Qualifications

  • A degree qualification in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Geology/Earth sciences or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate should have experience in a variety of sectors, such as road and rail, industrial, residential, commercial, and leisure developments, where they have provided clients with sturdy, technically sound, and cost-effective solutions.
  •  The successful candidate is expected to have the following capabilities and performance expectations.
  • Experience conducting, scoping, and assessing preliminary risk assessments and intrusive ground investigations, including knowledge of current ground investigation, sampling, and laboratory analytical procedures.
  • High degree of awareness of contaminated land regulations and planning regime to conduct geo-environmental ground investigation scoping and generic risk assessment.
  • An understanding of geology, ground modelling, and geotechnical engineering to enable geoenvironmental solutions that are integrated and function well with other engineering requirements (e.g., soil improvement, earthworks, foundations).
  • Writing and revising interpretative reports, including a thorough understanding of geology, ground models, and geotechnical engineering/soil behaviours, with support and coaching from geotechnical engineers on the team.
