This is a brilliant opportunity to work on some of the South West’s most historically significant buildings—ranging from listed civic assets to unique privately owned properties.

Whether you’re recently chartered or nearing APC completion, this is a great chance to specialise in the conservation and repair of traditional buildings within a well-established multi-disciplinary environment.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out condition surveys, inspections, and defect diagnosis

  • Advising on remedial works and traditional materials

  • Preparing detailed reports, schedules of repair, and design/specification documents

  • Supporting or managing construction contracts (depending on experience)

  • Collaborating with conservation officers, planners, and other consultants

  • Occasionally travelling for site inspections and survey work further afield

About You

  • Strong knowledge of building pathology and conservation techniques

  • Excellent report writing and communication skills

  • MRICS (or close to achieving it via the APC pathway)

  • UK driving licence

Bonus Points For:

  • RICS Conservation Accreditation or IHBC membership

  • Experience with public sector, charity, or ecclesiastical heritage work

  • Understanding of environmental monitoring or non-invasive investigation methods
