An established and forward-thinking RIBA-chartered architectural practice is seeking a Part II Architectural Assistant to join its growing team in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven individual to be involved in a diverse range of architectural projects across multiple sectors. Applicants with experience beyond Part II level will also be considered.
About the Role
This is a full-time hybrid position, primarily based in Newcastle upon Tyne, with flexibility for remote work where appropriate. Due to the collaborative nature of the role, applicants should be located in or around the Newcastle area.
As a Part II Architectural Assistant, you will support the team through all stages of design and project delivery. Your responsibilities will include the development of design proposals, preparation of technical drawings, and participation in client and team presentations. You will work closely with senior architects and consultants on both new build and refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities for the Part II Architectural Assistant.
- Assist in the preparation of design and technical drawings across all RIBA stages
- Develop conceptual and detailed architectural designs
- Prepare and present design proposals using appropriate software and visualisation tools
- Contribute to planning applications, technical documentation, and site coordination
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the smooth delivery of projects
- Stay informed of current building regulations and industry best practices
Requirements
- Part II qualification (or equivalent degree in Architecture)
- Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A creative approach with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude toward learning and development
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a UK-based architecture practice
- Working knowledge of UK building regulations and planning processes
- Experience with sustainable and inclusive design principles
Salary depending on experience £28,000 - £34,000 Plus benefits & flexible working!
