Principal Civil Engineer

Our client is looking to boost the strength of their Belfast office with the arrival of a Principal Civil Engineer of their already established Water Infrastructure team.

As a Principal Civil Engineer, your specialist skills will be put to the test as you support the team in winning and delivering innovative engineering solutions for both local and strategic UK based clients.

 

Your career does not peak at Principal level – there will be lots of opportunities to progress up to more senior positions throughout the company with no glass ceilings in place.

 

 

PRINCIPAL CIVIL ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop and maintain key client relationships clients at both local and national level.
  • Effectively contribute to the winning of work through bid management, production of proposals, fees, and scope definition.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Ensure that projects are adequately resourced, profitable, and in line with client expectations.
  • Provide technical engineering leadership. 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS (please note, you don’t need to ‘tick’ off everything listed)

 

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered with a recognised institution.  
  • Ideally, you will have hands-on experience of design/ project and bid delivery and leadership.
  • Strong technical engineering background.
  • Sound knowledge of heavy concrete and steel structure design combined with a familiarity of current design standards.
  • Flexible approach to project type, location of project including overseas for site visits if required.

 

 

ON OFFER

 

  • £55,000 – £65,000. 
  • Flexible/ hybrid working.
  • Double Pension, 15% – (5% you, 10% employer).
