Project Architect

We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Architect (circa 5–10 years post-Part 3) to join a well-established, medium-sized architectural practice in Leeds

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of major high-rise  buildings, contributing to landmark residential and mixed-use developments of up to 25 storeys, as well as specialist care homes, listed building conversions, and bespoke private residences.

You will take ownership of significant projects from concept through to completion, with a particular focus on high-rise and mixed-use schemes, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022. As Principal Designer, you will oversee design risk management and coordinate health & safety compliance across the design team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage architectural projects from RIBA Stage 0–7, ensuring design quality, compliance, and buildability.
  • Oversee design risk management and act as Principal Designer under CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary teams on site.
  • Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and specifications compliant with UK Building Regulations and BIM Level 2 workflows.
  • Mentor junior staff and support the growth of the design team.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years’ post-Part 3 experience as a Project Architect, ideally with a proven track record on high-rise or high-risk residential/mixed-use schemes.
  • Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Principal Designer responsibilities.
  • Demonstrable project management experience across all RIBA stages.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and ability to deliver compliant, buildable design solutions.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM Level 2 workflows.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • RIBA Chartered status.
