Conrad Consulting is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join our house building client on permanent basis. Our client has a number of developments across Scotland, and it is expected that the QS will have 2/3 sites to look after autonomously.
Being an integral part of the commercial team and reporting into the Commercial Director, our client is looking for a candidate who has demonstrable experience in a similar role within residential house building and who can comfortably work on their own initiative and collaborate well with the wider commercial function.
Day to Day
- Prepare forecasts of cost and value of all trades
- Report on savings and excesses against budget costs
- Report on any business development opportunities
- Effective management of supply chain partners
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders
- Allocating upcoming work to contractors whilst improving existing relationships
- Identify, control and report on project costs
- Ability to prepare reports and collate information
Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor:
- Minimum 2 years Quantity Surveying experience
- Ability to use initiative and resolve problems
- Effective time management capabilities
- Excellent organisational skills
- Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of building and health & safety legislation
