We are currently seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established refurbishment and fit out contractor based in Glasgow. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of projects, ensuring their successful delivery. While experience in similar project delivery is preferred, we also welcome candidates with a background in the construction industry seeking an exciting opportunity within a different sector.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and feasibility studies for projects.
- Prepare accurate estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to assess project requirements and negotiate favourable terms.
- Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities and contract documentation.
- Manage variations, claims, and contractual disputes, providing cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and site teams to support the successful delivery of projects.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, construction methods, and materials to provide innovative cost-saving solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in the construction industry
- Knowledge of quantity surveying practices, including cost estimation, contract administration, and project cost control.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide accurate reports.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying.
- Sound understanding of building regulations, codes, and standards.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Professional certifications or memberships related to quantity surveying are advantageous.
