We are partnering with an exclusive bespoke residential developer based in Edinburgh in their search for a Quantity Surveyor. Our client specialises in creating unique and exceptional residential projects that stand as testaments to craftsmanship and innovation. We are currently seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Responsibilities:

  • Undertake detailed cost analysis and feasibility studies for new build residential projects.
  • Prepare accurate estimates, budgets, and cost plans, considering all aspects of construction.
  • Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to assess project requirements and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities and contract documentation.
  • Effectively manage variations, claims, and contractual disputes, providing optimal solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to support the successful delivery of projects.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, construction methods, and material costs for innovative cost-effective strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within new build residential projects or from a main contractor environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying practices, cost estimation, contract administration, and project cost control.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to establish and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying.
  • Sound understanding of building regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable
