Our client is a reputable multi-disciplinary construction consultancy with three offices across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Sheffield. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across various sectors, including leisure, commercial, and retail.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and analysing project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Conducting comprehensive cost control, monitoring, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Performing accurate valuations of work in progress, variations, and final accounts, while ensuring compliance with contract specifications.
- Overseeing procurement and tendering activities, including assessing contractor and supplier bids.
- Managing project financial records, variations, and claims.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience Quantity Surveyor preferably within a consultancy environment
- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership.
- Sound knowledge of cost management principles, tendering, and procurement practices.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Excel, BIM, CostX, Autocad).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
