Quantity Surveyor

Our client, who are the maintenance arm of a housing association, are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of costs relating to maintenance projects undertaken by the Housing Association. You will work closely with their maintenance team and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting cost estimates and preparing budgets for maintenance projects.
- Procuring materials and services in accordance with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Analysing tenders and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitoring project costs and expenditure throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conducting cost assessments and producing financial reports for management review.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Providing support and advice to the maintenance team on cost-related matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the maintenance sector.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
