Our client is a respected independent construction consultancy based in York. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost management and a keen eye for detail. This role involves working on diverse projects, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact and advance your career within a supportive and forward-thinking construction consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments
- Manage the tender process, including the preparation and evaluation of tender documents
- Perform cost control and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and analyse project valuations and progress reports
- Handle contract administration and dispute resolution
- Provide advice on procurement strategy and contractual matters
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Key requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Experience of preparing, monitoring, and controlling budgets within a value for money framework
- Demonstrate strong skills in budgetary profiling and cost control
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Must have a driving licence and have access to own car
On offer for the Quantity Surveyor:
- An above market rate salary of £35,000 - £42,000 depending on experience.
- Pension contributions of 3% matched
- 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
