You will have the opportunity to work across projects such as Residential, Education, Local Government, Refurbishment and Industrial which will give you a great variety in your workload.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Manage client relationships and present project schemes effectively.
  • Oversee project programming and address any issues affecting service delivery.
  • Act as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.
  • Appoint and manage the performance of the Professional Team.
  • Prepare and deliver initial appraisals and feasibility reports.
  • Draft and prepare contract documents.
  • Delegate tasks while maintaining overall responsibility for project success.
  • Develop and manage budget estimates, cost plans, tendering processes, and contract arrangements.
  • Formulate project briefs and fee proposals and present schemes or services.
  • Prepare comprehensive tendering documentation.
  • Provide recommendations for interim payments, assess anticipated final costs, measure work, adjust variations, and prepare final accounts.

 

Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Chartered status (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience in design and build forms, including JCT contracts.
  • Knowledge in residential, education, existing buildings, and retrofit projects.
  • A RICS Accredited Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and MS Project.
