SENIOR / PRINCIAL CIVIL & STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Their team in Bristol is seeking a senior or principal level engineer with civil & structural experience in the water industry, specifically hydraulic structures and river engineering.

 

Ideally, you would have some hydraulic modelling as well as an element of structural and geotechnical engineering experience.

 

This is a key technical role for an experienced engineer who can lead the civil and structural aspects of water sector projects, with a particular emphasis on:

 

  • Hydraulic structures – including weirs, sluices, flood defences, culverts, intake structures, and outfalls
  • River engineering – including river restoration, embankments, scour protection, fish passes, and erosion control

 

You will play a vital role in design leadership, project delivery, client liaison, and mentoring junior staff, working on a mix of public and private sector projects including flood risk management schemes, EA frameworks, water utility upgrades, and infrastructure resilience projects.

 

About you:

  • Degree qualified civil or structural engineer who is Chartered or working towards
  • Proven experience working in the UK water sector
  • Strong understanding of river hydraulics, flood risk and water-retaining structures
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience working within a UK consultancy
