Senior / Principal Transport Planner

Our client is looking for a Transport Planner at Senior / Principal level to join their team. They have a multitude of projects at various stages in their project lifecycle, from appraisal through to construction, and in several different sectors. These include residential, commercial, and retirement & care.
Their clients range from local smaller scale businesses to local Government, respected regional contractors, national housebuilders, and commercial developers.
The role:
- Write, check and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Technical Notes;
- Good understanding or modelling packages and methodologies to calculate trip generation and distributions;
- Support preparation of and approve technical drawings where appropriate;
- Attendance as expert witness at appeal hearings and/or public inquiries;
- Project manage schemes, including budget and time management;
- Prepare, check and issue fee proposals and tenders;
- Line management responsibility including holding appraisals;
- Organising events including preparation of attendance lists - represent the company at external meetings / events with Clients;
- Have detailed knowledge of the market sectors within which the company operates or aspires to operate.
About you:
- Experienced in preparing Appeal documentation including Statement of Case, Statement of Common Ground and Proof of Evidence;
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience;
- Membership of professional organisation;
- At least 5 years transport planning experience;
- Extensive Transport Planning experience, demonstrating practical and theoretical specialist knowledge;
- Experience in managing/training members of staff
