Are you a skilled and motivated utility engineer with experience at least at senior level? Our client is looking for a driven candidate who has experience working on utility projects such as gas, water and electricity diversions during construction.
You will need a proactive approach and be able to manage relationships with services providers to successful execution of utility strategies.
Our client provides utility consultancy services across the UK and Ireland for a number of industry sectors. You will join a team dedicated to offering the highest quality of service on innovative and cost effective solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct load assessments to determine utility service capacity requirements for gas, water, and electricity.
- Evaluate the need for disconnections and diversions due to new developments and road layouts.
- Collate existing utility company service record drawings and obtain 'as fitted' drawings of the site where applicable.
- Undertake below-ground utility location mapping to identify existing services and potential conflicts.
- Develop detailed load schedules and produce multi-utility services drawings that present a site-wide utilities strategy.
- Obtain firm quotations from relevant utility suppliers for proposed works and manage commercial negotiations with network operators.
- Review and analyse information to provide technical insights and considerations for project development.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their sustainability aspirations and incorporate these into the overall energy strategy.
- Identify opportunities to remove constraints from sites and propose alternative solutions as needed.
- Maintain exceptional relationships with utility operators and engage directly to facilitate project requirements.
About You:
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in utility consultancy or a similar engineering role.
- Strong understanding of utility services, including gas, water, and electricity.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and utility providers.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for utility mapping and design.
