Senior Architect

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Architect to join the Leeds office of a highly respected, multi-disciplinary property design consultancy. This national firm is renowned for its long-standing partnerships with Local Authorities and public sector organisations, delivering a wide range of high-profile projects across multiple sectors.

Current & Upcoming Projects Include:

  • Leisure & Sports: Multiple leisure schemes valued up to £30m, many of which are approaching planning approval.
  • Grassroots Football Facilities: Upgraded and new training grounds, spectator terraces, and supporting amenities for community clubs.
  • Residential: A mix of net-zero new-build housing, estate regeneration, refurbishment, and energy efficiency improvement programmes.
  • Public Buildings: Planned refurbishments and upgrades of Education facilities both primary and secondary.

The Role

As a Senior Architect, you will play a leading role in project delivery at various RIBA stages—from early concept design to construction and handover. You will be responsible for managing design quality, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and ensuring successful outcomes within project budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Architect

  • Lead the design and delivery of multiple projects across sectors.
  • Manage client relationships and provide high-level consultancy advice.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants throughout all project stages.
  • Uphold high standards of architectural innovation and technical excellence.
  • Support the ongoing implementation of BIM using Revit (training available if required).

Requirements:

  • ARB-registered Architect and RIBA Chartered Member.
  • Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in a UK architectural practice.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating project delivery across various sectors.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD (training provided if needed).
  • Experience managing projects on-site, including job-running and contractor coordination.
  • Familiarity with current UK construction, health and safety legislation (including asbestos awareness).
  • Holds a valid site card or willingness to obtain one promptly.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard software tools.
