Senior Architectural Technician

A fast growing house building company near Wakefield who are setting up an in-house architectural team to complete architectural works from land inception through to completion are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technician.

Our client are passionate about delivering high-quality houses in the Yorkshire Region working on scheme between 30-250 units per site. Due to company growth our client are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Architectural Technician. Key Responsibilities for the Senior Architectural Technician:

  • Produce Architectural drawing packs from land inception to completion.
  • Produce high-quality, detailed technical drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with building regulations and NHBC standards.
  • Develop new standard house type ranges.
  • Produce full working drawing packs for standard house types as well and company standard details for construction
  • Collaborate with in house departments, engineers, and other project stakeholders to coordinate design.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project progress and resolve any technical issues on-site.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, offering technical support and advice.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of documentation and manage project timelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies.

Key Requirements for the Senior Architectural Technician:

  • A degree or HND in Architectural Technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Technician, with a strong portfolio of completed projects with residential experience (preferably volume house building).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and other design tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and sustainable design practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Full driving license (desirable).
