Senior Building Surveyor

Our client is a growing independent construction consultancy with three offices in the UK, renowned for its exceptional service in delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors. As their business grows, they are looking to recruit a talented Senior Building Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Leicester.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a vital role in our construction consultancy team, providing expert advice and guidance on building surveying matters. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing building projects from inception through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulations, client requirements, and industry best practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting detailed surveys, inspections, and assessments of existing and proposed buildings.
  • Preparing accurate specifications, feasibility studies, and reports.
  • Managing and overseeing building projects, including quality control, cost management, and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Offering expert advice on building regulations, planning permissions, and compliance issues.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to junior surveyors and other team members.
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to throughout the construction process.
  • Keeping updated with industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Building Surveyor in a consultancy environment.
  • Professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations, planning permissions, and construction processes.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving licence
