Are you an experienced and highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor looking for a new challenge? Our client, a small multi-disciplinary consultancy, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join their growing Birmingham team. With a portfolio of exciting projects across the residential and education sectors, this is the perfect opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to take their career to new heights.

 

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality surveying services to a diverse range of clients. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of building surveying, including project management, contract administration, dilapidations, building inspections, and providing professional advice on a variety of property-related matters. You will be a pivotal member of the team, working closely with clients, colleagues, and contractors to ensure exceptional project delivery.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and leading building surveying projects, from inception to completion
  • Conducting building inspections and producing detailed reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of feasibility studies, condition surveys, and dilapidation assessments
  • Providing professional advice and guidance on building regulations, health and safety matters, and construction-related legal matters
  • Monitoring construction progress, overseeing contractors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications
  • Leading client meetings, building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Mentoring and providing support to junior surveyors

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying or a related field
  • MRICS qualified
  • A background in residential and/or education is desirable
  • Strong building surveying and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Sound knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and construction-related legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain client relationships
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally when required

 

On offer for the Senior Building Surveyor:

  • Salary £55,000 - £60,000
  • Pension (4.5%)
