SENIOR CIVIL TECHNICIAN

Our client is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering expert services in Architecture, Project Management, Surveying, Engineering, and Energy & Sustainability across the UK. Their innovative, client-focused approach ensures sustainability is embedded at every stage of the project lifecycle.

They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Technician to join their team in the Chelmsford area. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role, take ownership of key civil engineering projects, and help mentor and guide junior team members.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design and coordination of civil engineering solutions including highways, drainage, earthworks, and site layouts
  • Produce detailed 3D models using Civil 3D and ensure project deliverables meet required standards
  • Oversee quality assurance and ensure compliance with local authority and planning regulations
  • Attend design reviews, client meetings, and support site inspections as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance on complex issues
  • Mentor junior technicians and contribute to the overall growth of the team

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in civil engineering design
  • Expert user of AutoCAD Civil 3D for 3D modelling and infrastructure design
  • Strong technical knowledge across highways, drainage, and site development
  • Relevant degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent industry background
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Must be eligible for an Enhanced DBS check
