Senior Interior Designer

A Senior Interior Designer is required to join one of the UK’s leading corporate and commercial workplace design and build companies located in Sheffield, S9.

Our client, a family run business who have been working in the commercial Interior fitout space for approaching 25 years, offer a full turnkey solution with a focus on city centre organisations, their service includes workplace consultancy, design & feasibility, and workspace build.  

Required is an experienced Senior Interior Designer to take up this key role in the Design and Delivery team to provide comprehensive services to the Company across all aspects of project design — from inception to delivery — including co-ordination of the company-wide design strategy.

The successful Senior Interior Designer will often be the first point of design contact to the outside world, so a thoroughly professional approach and manner is an absolute must.

The Senior Interior Designer should also be a strong self-starter, work well under pressure, and demonstrate good time and project management skills. They should have sound judgment to prioritise a diverse workload and respond appropriately to urgent tasks.

The role requires the ability to work effectively alone, while also being accountable to the wider team, and being very comfortable communicating with all colleagues across departments in a calm and patient manner.

The following list is extensive but not exhaustive:

  • Take design brief from sales team and develop the design journey.
  • Participate in client pitches.
  • Client liaison and accountability to design intent throughout the duration of projects.
  • Ensure design and budget control balance.
  • Assist in production of visuals, mood boards, presentations as required.
  • Assist in sample requests as required.
  • Contribute to, and implement, agreed strategic design initiatives for the business.

Specific competencies for the Senior Interior Designer

  • Understanding of Pre-construction, Delivery and Design Procedures
  • CAD software proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Site survey capabilities
  • Proficiency in SketchUp
  • Background in commercial fitout.

Salary & Package

Starting salary DOE £45,000 - £60,000 Plus benefits.
