Senior Project Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Senior Project Manager to join a privately owned and fast-growing construction consultancy, based in Manchester.

About the Role of a Senior Project Manager:

As a Senior Project Manager at MAC, you will lead the delivery of complex, high-value construction and infrastructure projects from inception to completion. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes aligned with client expectations, regulatory standards, and MAC’s core values of quality, sustainability, and service excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager:

  • Lead and manage construction projects across all RIBA stages.
  • Develop and control project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams including cost consultants, H&S advisors, and building surveyors.
  • Engage with clients to define requirements and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage procurement, tender processes, and contract administration (e.g. NEC, JCT).
  • Identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with statutory and HSEQ regulations.
  • Support business development by contributing to bids, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the clients knowledge-sharing culture.

 

Requirements of the Senior Project Manager:

  • Proven experience delivering projects in sectors such as education, healthcare, or residential.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and construction processes.
  • Familiarity with NEC/JCT contracts and capital programme delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Relevant qualifications: Professional accreditation (e.g. RICS, APM, CIOB) is desirable.
