We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in Leeds. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the commercial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. You will ensure effective cost management, contract administration, and accurate budgeting, while adhering to industry regulations and client requirements.
Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Assume responsibility for various commercial aspects of construction projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial planning
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely valuation, cost, and financial reports
- Monitor project progress and costs, ensuring timely identification and resolution of any discrepancies or issues that may arise
- Collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of projects within predetermined budgets and schedules
- Prepare and review tender documents, contract agreements, and other legal paperwork
- Provide assistance and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
Requirements of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in a consultancy environment
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Chartered status (RICS) is highly desirable
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data accurately
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Proficient in using industry-standard software, such as CostX, AutoCAD, or similar
On offer for the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- A starting salary of between £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience and chartership
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays with the ability to buy/sell
