Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of quantity surveying disciplines, including cost planning, tender documentation, contract administration, procurement, cost forecasting, and final accounts
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure projects are delivered within budget and scheduled timeframes
- Carry out site visits and inspections to ensure contractual compliance and quality control
- Prepare accurate and detailed reports, estimates, and valuations
- Provide expert advice on contractual disputes and claims resolution
- Mentor and support junior members of the team, promoting their professional growth within the company
Requirements of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status with a professional body (RICS, CIOB, or similar) is desirable
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in using industry software and digital tools
