We're working with a leading Built Environment consultancy based in Liverpool that’s looking to strengthen its established team with the addition of an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
With a strong national presence and a diverse portfolio spanning multiple sectors, this is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, or someone actively working towards Chartered status, who’s ready to take the next step in their career.
About the Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality cost consultancy services across a broad range of sectors, including Industrial, Residential, Commercial, and Bank Monitoring.
This is a varied and hands-on role where you’ll take day-to-day responsibility for leading multiple projects, working collaboratively with the team, and providing guidance to graduates and junior staff. You’ll also have the opportunity to build on existing client relationships while developing new connections as part of the consultancy’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Planning: Prepare cost estimates from early feasibility through to detailed design at various RIBA stages.
- Pre-Contract Services: Advise on procurement strategies, risk management, value engineering, and tendering. Prepare tender and contract documents, evaluate tenders, and support contract selection.
- Post-Contract Services: Advise on contractual matters, assess completed works for payment, manage design changes and variations, report costs, and negotiate final accounts.
- Collaboration & Development: Work closely with the team, mentor junior staff, and build both existing and new client relationships.
Requirements:
- A RICS-accredited degree.
- Either Chartered (MRICS) or actively working towards chartered status.
- Proven experience in both pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying, with project examples to demonstrate this.
