We are working with a leading multidisciplinary engineering studio, renowned for its collaborative and design-focused approach. They are currently seeking a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic London-based team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Chartered engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality, innovative structural solutions across a broad range of sectors and materials.
The Role:
The successful candidate will take ownership of the technical delivery of projects from early design stages through to completion on site. Acting as project lead or discipline lead where required, you will work closely with clients, architects, and consultants to produce elegant, buildable solutions that meet programme, budget, and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the structural design and coordination of multiple projects, ensuring technical excellence throughout
- Oversee the preparation of calculations, reports, drawings and specifications
- Review design work by other team members, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices
- Collaborate with external teams including architects, contractors, and other disciplines throughout the project lifecycle
- Attend design team meetings, site visits and inspections as needed
- Monitor budgets and timelines, identifying project risks and resource needs
- Support fee proposals and scope variations with technical input
- Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to a culture of learning and knowledge sharing
- Ensure compliance with UK codes, CDM regulations, and sustainability objectives
- Contribute to team planning and studio resourcing efforts
- Represent the team positively in all interactions with clients and collaborators
About You:
- Minimum 4 years of structural engineering design experience post-graduation in the UK
- Strong understanding of UK design codes, procurement routes, and construction techniques
- Degree qualified to Level 7 (MEng or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Passionate about innovative design and delivering technically sound, elegant structures
- Experienced in working with a wide range of materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
