Senior Temporary Works Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy in Deeside. This role offers the chance to work on prestigious projects across the UK, focusing on temporary works design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and assessment of temporary works, including falsework, formwork, access platforms, scaffolding, propping, hoardings, excavation support, and crane bases.
  • Produce detailed design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with current codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Liaise with site teams, project engineers, and external stakeholders to develop safe, practical, and economical solutions.
  • Undertake site visits and inspections to monitor the implementation of temporary works and provide technical support during construction.
  • Manage the approval process for temporary works, including preparation and presentation of design briefs and design risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, health and safety legislation, and relevant quality assurance procedures.
  • Assist in the development of standard temporary works solutions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians as required.

Requirements:

  • 5 +  years of experience in temporary works design
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE or IStructE).
  • Strong understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards, and temporary works procedures
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.

On Offer:

  • £50,000 - £70,000 DOE
  • Flexible start time between 8:30 am and 9:00 am.
  • 37.5 hours per week 
  • Involvement in high-profile, multi-disciplinary engineering projects
