Technical Director – Civil Engineering

Role Overview:
As a Technical Director, you will lead and mentor the Civil Engineering team, spearheading both ongoing projects and new client engagements. Your role will involve driving high-level analysis and complex designs, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You'll also play a key role in the organic growth of the team, providing essential support and training to staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Civil Engineering team, overseeing the delivery of high-quality, efficient designs across a range of projects.
- Mentor junior team members, offering guidance and fostering their professional development.
- Drive high-level analysis and design, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Collaborate with 12 other UK-based design offices, contributing to a culture of innovation, knowledge-sharing, and excellence.
- Engage with new clients and support the growth of the team.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for an individual who may currently be in an Associate role within a UK-based consultancy or already working as a Technical Director. Ideal candidates will possess several of the following:
- Chartered status.
- Strong technical proficiency and excellent report writing skills.
- Proven experience in leading teams, mentoring staff, and managing projects.
- Expertise in highway design to UK standards, such as DMRB.
- Experience in drainage design, including residential, SUDS, and flood alleviation projects.
- Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD.
