Role Overview:

As a Technical Director, you will lead and mentor the Civil Engineering team, spearheading both ongoing projects and new client engagements. Your role will involve driving high-level analysis and complex designs, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You'll also play a key role in the organic growth of the team, providing essential support and training to staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Civil Engineering team, overseeing the delivery of high-quality, efficient designs across a range of projects.
  • Mentor junior team members, offering guidance and fostering their professional development.
  • Drive high-level analysis and design, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with 12 other UK-based design offices, contributing to a culture of innovation, knowledge-sharing, and excellence.
  • Engage with new clients and support the growth of the team.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for an individual who may currently be in an Associate role within a UK-based consultancy or already working as a Technical Director. Ideal candidates will possess several of the following:

  • Chartered status.
  • Strong technical proficiency and excellent report writing skills.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, mentoring staff, and managing projects.
  • Expertise in highway design to UK standards, such as DMRB.
  • Experience in drainage design, including residential, SUDS, and flood alleviation projects.
  • Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD.
